My husband and I were looking to spend a romantic evening together and The Stone House Inn and Spa did not disappoint. We started off with checking in and having a 90 minute couples massage in the onsite spa and the girls were fantastic. Upon arrival the innkeeper was welcoming with his dog "Cheeks" and told us about the history of the Inn. We stayed in the Stonehouse suite and would highly recommend it to everyone. The details included chocolates at bedside, flowers on the table, robes hanging in the sitting room and an overall welcoming feel to the suite. The bathroom might have been our favorite room. From the heated tile floor to the old fashioned claw foot tub and towel warmer it was a very relaxing space. The breakfast was delicious and filling and as we ate by a warming fire in the common areas stone fireplace the innkeeper was very attentive and made sure or meal was fantastic. We will definitely be back and hopefully will have a few more days to spend at this historic, beautiful, and romantic Inn.
Stayed recently in the Barn Cats room. It, and the Stoney Rest Guest House, was everything advertised and more. Easy access of main highway, easy after-hours check-in, VERY clean and pleasant accommodations, FAN-TAS-TIC continental breakfast provided in the morning, private & free parking. Only addition would be meeting an owner in the morning and a print-off of TV channels available so you don't have to scroll through them all. If you want to feel like you got away from the hustle and bustle of life, this is a real gem!!! Very cozy, full of character and an enthusiastic thumbs UP!
Please note that kids (specifically toddlers) are not welcomed even if accompanied by an adult who makes sure the child behaves. I usually don't take my child to such places but had no choice that one time and thought it was ok since the service was not done to me and I was watching the child carefully, making sure she stayed quiet. However, I was very quickly told not to bring her again.
